The Deacon
Deacons play a key role in moving our church into mission, specifically in the area of justice, mercy and compassion. As members of the Board of Deacons, they are responsible for the collecting, managing and distributing of physical and financial resources of the church along with other established ministry teams. This includes benevolences and assistance to the needy.

They focus on six key areas of concern:

• Special Individual and Family Concerns
• Stewardship Education and Congregational Giving
• Mission Involvement
• Volunteer Service
• Reformed Church World Service and Hunger Advocacy
• Caring for Creation and Simple Living

Church of the Chimes has up to eight deacons elected to serve two-year terms of office. Each year a small number of deacons conclude their active term and are replaced by those newly elected by the congregation.
